Chikmagalur or chikkamagaluru is a very common name heard among people planning for getaways in Karnataka. Chikmagalur is home to thick forests, filled with greenery, waterfalls, mountains and coffee plantations as well. Coffee was introduced into India through Chikmagalur district when the first coffee crop was grown in the bababudan giri range. Mullayangiri, the highest peak in Karnataka, is also located at Chikmagalur. Chikmagalur has number of tourist spots to visit namely, Kemmangundi, Kudremukha National Park, Mullayangiri, Muthodi Forest, Deviramma Temple, Jhari falls, Manikyadhara Falls, Kalhathagiri Falls and the list goes on.

Chikmagalur has two main wildlife sanctuaries, namely Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary and Kudremukha National Park.  The Kudremukha National Park is the largest declared Wildlife Protected Area of a tropical wet evergreen type of forest in the Western Ghats. Kudremukha National Park also comes under the Global Tiger Conservation to protect the tigers.

As Chikmagalur is a hotspot for tourists, there are places which are less explored. The thick dense forest, tall trees, magnificent mountains, numerous streams running throughout and the never ending rolling hills stretching from everywhere to everywhere is a must visit place to put on your trekking shoes and explore

Chikmagalur Trip Itinerary

Day 0 (10/05/2024, Friday)

👉Start From Bangalore at 09:00 PM..

Day 1 (11/05/2024, Saturday)

👉Reach the spellbinding homestay, located amongst the ever-green forests of the Western Ghats with greenery all around.
👉Freshen up and have breakfast.
👉Head to the Baba Budan Giri peak to enjoy the beautiful view of the Western Ghats

👉 Head To the beautiful Jhari Waterfalls/ Dabdabe Waterfalls/Buttermilk falls.
👉Short walk through the cool dense jungle to reach the waterfalls.(Self Sponsored Jeep ride)
👉Play in the falls with ice-cold water gushing from the mountains.
👉Have Lunch
👉Head to the Highest Peak in Karnataka, Mullayangiri Peak, and enjoy the fabulous view of the sunsetting.
👉Thrilling Off road Jeep Ride to the peak

👉Head back to the homestay and enjoy the Coffee, dry roasted from the local plantations and freshly brewed.
👉Enjoy the campfire, with singing, dancing, and showcasing other talents.
👉Relish the lip-smacking dinner and sign off for the day.

Day 2 (12/05/2024, Sunday)

👉Wake up and freshen up.
👉Have breakfast and check out.

👉 Visit Siri cafe and enjoy some hot coffee.
👉Head to the ancient Belur temple to get to know the beautiful history of the temple or visit Yagachi Adventures for thrilling water activities.

👉Have lunch on the way(self-sponsored)
👉Reach Bangalore by around 9.30 PM(approx)

Things To Carry

• Water Bottle – a life Savior(2 liters)
• Trekking shoes or hiking boots(helps you walk on different terrain with much ease)
• Backpack to carry all the items you need
• You can carry energy food like(dry fruits, Chocolate bars, Glucose, Electrolyte, and flavored milk)
• Trekking pants or trousers(make sure you take comfortable ones)
• Sweaters or Pullovers
• Cap or a hat (to look like cool dudes )
• Power bank (optional)
• Camera (optional)
• Sunscreen lotion, sun blocks, and lip balm(if getting tanned will scare you)
• Sunglasses (optional)
• Extra cash for things that are not included in the list
• Raincoat
• Personal medicine if required
• Mosquito repellent cream
