Winter Spiti Itinerary (8 D | 7 N)

Day 0:

  • Departure from Delhi (2:00 PM) to Manali by Volvo Bus
  • Overnight stay in Manali

Note : Depart from Delhi on a Volvo bus at 3:00 PM, arriving in Manali the following morning. Please note that the bus departs at 3:00 PM from Delhi, and all participants must reach Delhi by 1:30 PM. The exact meeting point in Delhi will be shared after your group’s inclusion. Participants are responsible for their transportation to this location. Once there, you’ll receive contact details for the Volvo bus boarding point, and the bus will commence its overnight journey to Manali. Please be aware that meals are not included during the overnight travel on the bus.

Day 1:

Reach Manali, Overnight stay in Manali

  • Participants meet the team marshal near the bus stand.
  • The marshal escorts participants to the hotel.
  • At the hotel, a briefing is provided by the marshal regarding the upcoming Spiti journey.
  • Participants can freshen up, have breakfast, and relax for a while.
  • Visit the Hidimba Temple, Vashisht Temple, and the hot springs.
  • Explore the inviting cafes of Old Manali.
  • Enjoy the dinner.
  • Participants will spend the night in Manali in preparation for the journey to Spiti.

Day 2:

Manali TO Baga Sarhan (228 Km, 6 Hours Drive)

  • Depart Manali early for the Kinnaur journey.
  • Drive via Gada Gushaini.
  • Explore various villages in Thirthan Valley.
  • Visit Baga Sarhan Meadow and Bhimakali Temple.
  • Arrive in Baga Sarhan by late afternoon.
  • Check into a hotel, located at 3200 meters elevation.
  • Enjoy the dinner provided at the stay.
  • Overnight stay in Baga Sarhan.

Day 3:

Baga Sarhan to Chitkul / Sangla (220 km, 6 hours drive)

  • Journey to Chitkul
  • Explore the picturesque village.
  • Visit local temples and savor local cuisine.
  • Prepare for colder weather and bring extra warm clothing.
  • Meals provided: Breakfast and dinner.
  • Head to Kamru Fort for a dose of history.
  • Explore Sangla, the last village before Chitkul.
  • Visit Chitkul, the last village of India near the India-China border.
  • Spend time by the beautiful Baspa River.
  • Evening visit to Hindustan Ka Aakhri Dhaba for local delicacies.
  • Enjoy dinner and stay overnight.

Day 4:

Chitkul To Nako, overnight stay at Nako (150 km, 4 hours)

  • Enjoy breakfast in Chitkul.
  • Start the journey to Nako, a remote village near the Indo-China border.
  • Note: An Inner Line Permit (for foreigners) or a written entry is required at Sumdo checkpoint for entry.
  • Arrive in Nako, an elevated village at 12,000ft.
  • Evening options: Admire Nako Lake’s beauty or take in village views.
  • Visit Nako Monastery.
  • Dinner and the next day’s breakfast are provided.

Day 5:

Nako TO Kaza, Overnight stay in Kaza (110 Km, 3:30 hours)

  • Begin the day with a stunning sunrise in Nako.
  • Head to Gue Monastery to witness the unique 500-year-old mummy of Monk Sangha Tenzin.
  • Arrive in Kaza, the heart of Spiti valley at 12,470ft.
  • Explore Kaza, a modernized town with souvenir shops and local cuisine.
  • Stay in Kaza for two nights.
  • Visit Dhankar Village and Dhankar Monastery.
  • Discover Kaza Market.
  • Check in at a homestay in Kaza by evening.
  • Meals included: Breakfast and Dinner.

Day 6:

Overnight Stay in Kaza

  • Early start with breakfast.
  • Explore Kibber, Demul, and Komic Villages.
  • Visit the iconic Key Monastery.
  • Drive to Asia’s highest suspension bridge, Chicham Bridge.
  • Explore the renowned Buddha Statue in Langza, surrounded by white mountains.
  • Head to the world’s highest post office in Hikkim Village.
  • Meals included: Breakfast and Dinner.

Day 7:

Kaza to Kalpa, overnight Stay in Kalpa (220 Km, 6 hours)

  • After a hearty breakfast, it’s time to leave the captivating Spiti valley.
  • Prepare for an early start on the journey to Kalpa in Kinnaur.
  • Kalpa, situated at 9,711ft, offers stunning views of the Kinner Kailash mountain range and famous Kinnauri apples.
  • Meals included: Breakfast and Dinner.

Day 8:

Kalpa to Manali/Mandi (270 Km, 9 hours)

  • Enjoy a relaxed breakfast in Kalpa.
  • Explore the village and visit the renowned Kalpa temple nestled in the Himalayas.
  • Savor local delicacies like Siddu and Dham in cafes and restaurants.
  • Gather with the group at 4 pm for a tempo ride to the Volvo bus stand.
  • Begin an overnight journey from Manali to Delhi.
  • Meal provided: Breakfast.
  • Catch a bus from Manali to Delhi for your departure

Note : Trippers can fly back to their home cities on Sunday, any time post 1 pm. Reach home and rest up before kickstarting the week ahead the next day, hopefully with memories of the days we spent.

Cancellation Policy North India Trips

  • 45 days before the trip start date: full refund
  • Between 45 and 30 days of trip start date: 50% refund

  • You are not eligible for a refund if you fail to show up on the day of departure under the given timeline that has been provided to you beforehand.

  • While on the trip, if any problems arises such as  harsh weather conditions, government orders, protests, landslides, or any other unforeseen circumstances, On any such happenings, we have a backup plan ready most of the time and we’ll be moving onto that. There are times when we would have to cancel some activities mentioned in the itinerary but it’s only due to the reason that we would be bound by a circumstance that is not in our control.
  • If a trek is called off at the last moment, before the event starts, due to a natural calamity/unforeseen circumstances (like rain, snowfall, earthquake, landslides, strike, bandh, etc.) then the participants would be provided with a travel voucher for the same amount that can be used within 365 days of the issuance date for any package worth the same amount.
  • If a trek/trip has to be aborted midway due to a natural calamity/unforeseen circumstances (like rain, snowfall, earthquake, landslides, strike, bandh, etc.). In that case, no refund would be provided. Chitkul –The Last Village Of India

Chitkul is nestled in Kinnaur Valley which is nothing short of a traveler’s paradise. This place could be an ideal choice for adventure lovers. Chitkul is located at an altitude of about 11,319 ft which makes it a bit difficult to reach. But as they say, no good thing comes that easy.

Baspa River

You can enjoy a peaceful walk by the Baspa River. While taking a walk, you can dip your hands to enjoy the cool, glacial water. The crystal-clear water looks mesmerizing, especially on a sunny day

Dhankar Fort And Monastery

This beautiful monastery is locked between the rocky spurs at the top of a cliff in the Dhankar village at an elevation of over 3,800 meters in the Spiti Valley. It is a 16th-century old fort monastery, which has also served as a prison in the erstwhile era. The Dhankar Gomba is over 1000 years old. The fort of Dhankar now lies in ruins but still is a place worthy of a visit. From the remnants of the fort, one can see vast expanses of the Spiti Valley.

Nako Village

Often ignored for metaphorically bigger pastures, Nako Village has a lot to offer in its quiet, non-pompous manner. Key/Kye Monastery

Langza is one of the remotest villages of India in the state of Himachal Pradesh.
