Summer Spiti Itinerary (8 D | 7 N)

Day 0: DEPART FROM DELHI BY 05:30 PM

  • Start of Adventure: Your journey kicks off with an evening time departure from Delhi. Get ready to experience the magic of Manali as we travel through the night.
  • Scenic Drive: Enjoy the scenic drive through winding roads with mesmerizing mountain and valley views.
  • Welcome to Manali: Arrive in Manali in the morning, all set for a cozy stay after a night on the road.

Note: The pickup point will be Majnu Ka Tila Gather with the group here

Note : Depart from Delhi on a Volvo bus at 5:00 PM, arriving in Manali the following morning. Please note that the bus departs at 6:00 PM from Delhi, and all participants must reach Delhi by 3:30 PM. The exact meeting point in Delhi will be shared after your group’s inclusion. Participants are responsible for their transportation to this location. Once there, you’ll receive contact details for the Volvo bus boarding point, and the bus will commence its overnight journey to Manali. Please be aware that meals are not included during the overnight travel on the bus.

Day 1:

Reach Manali, Overnight stay in Manali

  • Participants meet the team marshal near the bus stand.
  • The marshal escorts participants to the hotel.
  • At the hotel, a briefing is provided by the marshal regarding the upcoming Spiti journey.
  • Participants can freshen up, have breakfast, and relax for a while.
  • Visit the Hidimba Temple, Vashisht Temple, and the hot springs in Tuk Tuk (Autorickshaw)
  • Explore the inviting cafes of Old Manali.
  • Enjoy the dinner.
  • Participants will spend the night in Manali in preparation for the journey to Spiti.

Day 2:

Manali TO Sangla (280 Km, 8 Hours Drive)

  • Depart Manali early for the Kinnaur journey.
  • Drive via Gada Gushaini.
  • Explore various villages in Jibhi.
  • Arrive in Sangla by late Evening.
  • Check into a hotel, located at 3200 meters elevation.
  • Enjoy the dinner provided during the stay.
  • Overnight stay in Sangla

Day 3:

 Sangla  and Chitkul Village Exploration,  overnight stay at Tabo/Nako (200 km, 5 hours)

  • Wake Up Early Have Breakfast
  • Head to Kamru Fort for a dose of history.
  • Visit Chitkul, the last village of India near the India-China border.
  • Afternoon visit to Hindustan Ka Aakhri Dhaba for local delicacies.
  • Start the journey to Tabo
  • Meals provided: Breakfast and dinner.
  • Head to Tabo for Night’s stay
  • Prepare for colder weather and bring extra warm clothing.
  • Enjoy dinner and stay overnight.

Day 4:

Tabo TO Kaza, Overnight stay in Kaza (60 Km, 2:30 hours)

  • Begin the day with a stunning sunrise in Tabo.
  • Arrive in Kaza, the heart of Spiti Valley at 12,470ft.
  • Explore Kaza, a modernized town with souvenir shops and local cuisine.
  • Stay in Kaza for two nights.
  • Visit Dhankar Village and Dhankar Monastery.
  • Discover Kaza Market.
  • Check-in at a homestay in Kaza by evening.
  • Meals included: Breakfast and Dinner.

Day 5:

Overnight Stay in Kaza

  • Early start with breakfast.
  • Explore Kibber, Demul, and Komic Villages.
  • Visit the iconic Key Monastery.
  • Drive to Asia’s highest suspension bridge, Chicham Bridge.
  • Explore the renowned Buddha Statue in Langza, surrounded by white mountains.
  • Head to the world’s highest post office in Hikkim Village.
  • Meals included: Breakfast and Dinner.

Day 6:

Kaza to Chandratal, overnight Stay in Chandratal in camps/Tent (100 Km, 4 hours)

  • After breakfast and exploring the local market in Kaza, start the journey towards Chandratal.
  •  Spend some time at picturesque locations along the way.
  •  Arrive at Chandratal and check into the campsite. Dinner will be provided.
  •  Stay in Alpine/Dome Tents with a common washroom. The camps are situated in an area surrounded by stones, so be prepared for a basic setup. You’ll find only mattresses in the tents. The camps are located near the river, which can make the approach challenging at times.
  • Enjoy breakfast at Chandratal before departing for your next destination.

Day 7:

Chandratal to Manali(120 Km, 4 hours)

  • After a hearty breakfast, it’s time to leave the captivating Spiti Valley.
  • Prepare for an early start on the journey to Manali.
  • Gather with the group at 4 pm for a tempo ride to the Volvo bus stand.
  • Begin an overnight journey from Manali to Delhi.
  • Meal provided: Breakfast.
  • Catch a bus from Manali to Delhi for your departure

Note : Trippers can fly back to their home cities on Sunday, any time post 1 pm. Reach home and rest up before kickstarting the week ahead the next day, hopefully with memories of the days we spent.

Cancellation Policy North India Trips

  • 45 days before the trip start date: full refund
  • Between 45 and 30 days of trip start date: 50% refund
  • Between 30 and 14 days of the trip start date: 25% refund
  • Less than 14 days of the trip start date: No refund
  • You are not eligible for a refund if you fail to show up on the day of departure under the given timeline that has been provided to you beforehand.
  • Cancellation Policy
  • While on the trip, if any problems arises such as  harsh weather conditions, government orders, protests, landslides, or any other unforeseen circumstances, On any such happenings, we have a backup plan ready most of the time and we’ll be moving onto that. There are times when we would have to cancel some activities mentioned in the itinerary but it’s only due to the reason that we would be bound by a circumstance that is not in our control.
  • If a trek is called off at the last moment, before the event starts, due to a natural calamity/unforeseen circumstances (like rain, snowfall, earthquake, landslides, strike, bandh, etc.) then the participants would be provided with a travel voucher for the same amount that can be used within 365 days of the issuance date for any package worth the same amount.
  • If a trek/trip has to be aborted midway due to a natural calamity/unforeseen circumstances (like rain, snowfall, earthquake, landslides, strike, bandh, etc.). In that case, no refund would be provided. Adventure Buddha will not bear any extra expense due to any natural calamity/unforeseen circumstances (like rain, snowfall, earthquake, landslides, strikes, bandh, etc.).

Chitkul –The Last Village Of India

Dhankar Fort And Monastery

This beautiful monastery is locked between the rocky spurs at the top of a cliff in the Dhankar village at an elevation of over 3,800 meters in the Spiti Valley. It is a 16th-century old fort monastery, which has also served as a prison in the erstwhile era. The Dhankar Gomba is over 1000 years old. The fort of Dhankar now lies in ruins but still is a place worthy of a visit. From the remnants of the fort, one can see vast expanses of the Spiti Valley.

Nako Village
